Cocktail Bartending in Bucks County
Spirit Forward is a Philadelphia based craft cocktail mixology team, and Bucks County is where our most unusual work tends to happen. Barn weddings, farmhouses, and one British hunting party.
The proposal party
A client in Perkasie planned a British-style hunting themed party to propose to his partner. There was a live pheasant hunt. There were fourteen guests. It ran outdoors first, then moved inside.
So we built two bars for fourteen people. The outdoor bar was served out of the back of a station wagon, a display backbar with pour-and-go cocktails and amaro poured into a few different glasses. Guests came in from the field to a full Bloody Mary bar with three rimming salts, lime ash, Tajín and classic. Then everyone moved indoors and the second bar took over with whiskey sours, extra-dirty martinis with blue cheese olives, and classic daiquiris.
His sister designed the menus. It was beautiful and completely bespoke, and it is the best answer we have to the question "can you work with an unusual idea."
Barns and farmhouses
We poured a wedding for a hundred and eighty guests at Rafters in Newtown, a barn with hanging lights and the kind of setting that does most of the work for you. Our job there was to bring the cocktails and let the room be the room.
We've also worked a wedding at a private farmhouse in Upper Black Eddy for a hundred and twenty guests, with punches alongside the cocktail menu, and a welcome dinner in the barn at Stone Ridge Farm Inn in Perkasie.
